Brendan markey - secretary general
Brendan Markey is a Senior from Springfield, Massachusetts studying Economics and History, while also pursuing research in Colombia on refugee movement and the effects of the Venezuelan economic crisis on local migration policy and outcomes. He served as Under-Secretary General for NDMUN II before taking a year off of the conference to study abroad in Santiago, Chile and perfect his Spanish. In addition to being involved in the leadership of the Model UN Club, he has served on multiple committees in Notre Dame Student Government and is a Hesburgh-Yusko Scholar. In his role as Secretary General, Brendan is most excited about expanding the NDMUN IV conference and maximizing the delegate experience, both in and out of committee, to ensure that every delegate has a fantastic experience.
Emilia Castelao - under-Secretary general
Emilia Castelao is a Sophomore from New Orleans, Louisiana studying Film and Global Affairs with a minor in Journalism. Emilia is a Posse Scholar and specializes in researching the influence of social media markets on the traditional film industry in regards to audience participation and influence on marketing campaigns. This summer, she is interning as a Public Relations manager for the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. Outside of Model UN, Emilia writes for HerCampus magazine, travels with the ND Rock Climbing Club, and hopes to one day win an Oscar for best director and documentary film. She is so excited to serve as Under-Secretary General and hopes at the end of the day, everyone has a fantastic (and fun!) time at NDMUN IV.
Jonathan Tawachi - DG of committees
Jonathan Tawachi is a Sophomore from Panama City, Panama, majoring in Business Analytics and Political Science. This summer he is serving as a public policy advisor to the Minister of Facilitation of Private Investment in Panama. Jonathan became passionate about politics after joining his high school’s Model United Nations team when he was 12 years old and has loved the activity more than any other ever since. He hopes everyone will have a fruitful experience and enjoy the conference, especially by learning but also having a lot of fun!
Alexander Lewis - dg of commitees
Alex Lewis is a Sophomore from Arlington, Virginia, currently majoring in Neuroscience and Behavior and Spanish in the College of Science. Outside of Model UN he plays on the Club Water Polo Team and work as research assistants in Psychology and International Studies. He is also fairly involved in service on campus in several community-based-learning courses and center for social concerns seminars. He has been doing Model UN since his freshman year of high school and have loved every moment of it both when competing and running things behind the scenes. Since starting college, he have traveled to several conferences with the NDMUN travel team, and enjoyed working as the Chair of DISEC at NDMUN III last semester.
Cory McCarthy - DG of Fundraising
Corey McCarthy is a sophomore at Notre Dame. He is originally from Glastonbury, CT, but now resides in the beautiful Dunne Hall. Corey is studying Marketing and International Economics with German. In addition to Model United Nations, Corey is also an active member of Student International Business Council, Matriculate, and German Club.
Tyler Krasny - DG of Publicity and Recruiting
Tyler Krasny is from Kalamazoo, Michigan and is currently studying Computer Science at Notre Dame. Even though his major seemingly doesn’t relate to just about anything found in Model UN, solving issues through peaceful discourse and engaging dialogue is something that applies universally. Moreover, as global citizens, he feels we should all strive to remain globally/civically engaged, and Model UN is a great way of doing so. NDMUN offers hundreds of students this opportunity, and he’s thrilled to be able to help ensure that the experience is great for all involved.
Lisa Michelini - DG of Simulations
Lisa Michelini is a Political Science major with minors in Public Service and Peace Studies from Schaumburg, IL. She is extremely excited to be DG of Simulations for NDMUN IV because it allows her to get to be creative and hang out with fun people that share her interests!
Elton Zhang - DG of Events
Elton Zhang is a rising Sophomore at ND studying Business Analytics and ACMS. On campus, he does everything from playing rugby to NDMUN. He is very excited to have the opportunity to apply his 4 years of high school MUN experience to help make NDMUN IV engaging and fun as the Director of Events.
